Brigitta Serbán Designer of experiences, products and change.

I work at the intersection of people, technology and organisations - turning complexity into experiences that make sense, feel human and create meaningful impact.

About me and what sparks me

I’m a designer shaped by many chapters - educator, strategist, facilitator, writer, creative thinker - each one deepening how I understand people, systems, and the experiences that connect them.

What drives me is not only the pursuit of good design, but the belief that thoughtful design can create clarity, dignity and meaningful change in everyday life.

9+ years
in professional design
6+ years
in UX and digital product design
12+ years
in facilitation, training and Design Thinking

I’m especially drawn to projects where human needs, business goals and social responsibility meet - where design becomes a bridge between complexity and care.

Over the years I’ve worked across education, public services, telecommunications and digital product design, leading and contributing to projects that required strategic thinking, collaboration across cultures, and sensitivity toward diverse user realities.

My approach combines analytical structure with emotional intelligence. I enjoy mapping systems, uncovering what is hidden, and transforming insight into experiences that feel intuitive, accessible and alive.

Beyond professional roles, I’m inspired by culture, art, interior spaces, aesthetics, writing, and the emotional layers of human experience.

Welcome to my world, where strategy meets sensitivity, and experience becomes intentional design.

Ambigua Studio from ambiguity to understanding, from understanding to action

Until now I have done my freelance and project work as Brux Design: BR for Brigitta, UX for user experience. Ambigua Studio is the next chapter, an emerging brand still in preparation, as my focus shifts towards design-led change and digital transition.

It is named for where most work worth doing starts: in ambiguity, with unclear needs, competing interests and incomplete information. My strength is not just designing interfaces, it is understanding how organisations work, where they resist change, and how to bring people along.

Three levels of the same capability

  1. 1Product design

    I design solutions.

Hands-on work with users, interfaces and workflows: research, information architecture, prototypes, usability, accessibility and implementation.

  2. 2Experience and product management

    I design systems.

One level up, where the whole experience comes into view: coordinating stakeholders, aligning business goals with user needs, and defining priorities, roadmaps and experience strategy.

  3. 3Design operations and transformation

I design the conditions for success.

Less hands-on, more structural: the processes, frameworks and ways of collaborating that let teams build better products - not just designing solutions, but enabling the people who have to live with them.

I don’t simply design screens. I help make complex things understandable and actionable.

I translate complex requirements into clear, actionable solutions, and communicate across developers, product owners, stakeholders and end users. In practice the steps below overlap, and the last one always leads back to the first.

ListenStep 1 of 8

  1. Listen

Stakeholder and domain interviews, user data, and the questions nobody has asked yet. Before the first screen, I want to hear how the people involved describe the problem.

  2. Understand

Competitor audits, best-practice reviews and behaviour analysis. I look for what is actually happening rather than what the brief assumes.

  3. Frame

Name the real problem and decide what matters first: jobs to be done, a realistic first version, a scope everyone can repeat in one sentence.

  4. Explore

Map and sketch in the open - flows, information architecture, shared boards - so ideas can be questioned while they are still cheap to change.

  5. Prototype

Make it tangible quickly, then test it with people: moderated sessions, scripts and questionnaires, in person or remote.

  6. Align

Bring product owners, markets, developers and leadership to the same picture. Every design decision is presented together with its reasoning.

  7. Deliver

Thorough documentation, and staying close to developers through handoff, so that every detail is clear and buildable.

  8. Learn

Watch how the result is used, adjust, and carry the lesson into the next iteration. Then listen again.

What it is made of

Research, empathy, Systems thinking, facilitation, Design strategy, visual thinking, Prototyping, stakeholder alignment, Structured decision-making, iteration.

Teaching & training a teacher by training, a designer by practice

I trained as a teacher before I trained as a designer, and for more than twelve years I have designed and led workshops, trainings and learning programmes across multiple sectors.

This shapes how I approach change: not just designing solutions, but enabling the people who have to live with them.

  • Design Thinking workshops
  • Trainings
  • Learning programmes
  • Talks

My first encounter with Design Thinking came at IFTE in Vienna, when I was asked to step in for a sick colleague and facilitate a hands-on prototyping workshop at Global Entrepreneurship Week. Built from scrap materials, run in front of a room full of strangers.

It was terrifying, and then it was the most alive I had felt professionally.

That moment set the direction for everything that followed.

Writing essays, voice, and the words inside products

I have written for as long as I have worked. After university I published articles on pedagogy, culture and social topics for Bárka, Irodalmi Jelen and Raab Kiadó. Later came pieces for Lean In Femspace in Vienna, a network of Hungarian professional women living abroad, and articles on AI and the tech job market for Hamburg Coding School.

Inside products, writing means tone of voice, UX copy and content strategy. For Budapest’s official tourism platform I defined a new tone of voice through UX copywriting. The words are part of the interface, and often the part people remember.

A personal editorial project

Social Soprano

Exploring women, culture, society and the human experience of modern life.

Social Soprano grew from my desire to create a space for thoughtful conversation, cultural observation and socially conscious writing.

It is a young project and a personal one, kept separate from my client work. It is both a creative exploration and a reminder that empathy, curiosity and thoughtful action still matter.
