What this website does not do
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, has no contact form, and loads no fonts, scripts or other files from third parties. The typefaces are served from this site itself.
Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. When you open a page, your browser sends technical data to the host's servers, as it does to any web server: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, and details of your browser and device. The host processes this data to deliver the website and to keep it secure. I do not combine it with other data and do not use it to identify visitors.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR: my legitimate interest in a reliable and secure website. The host may process data in the United States. Netlify, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and uses the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission. When you write to me
If you contact me by email, I use your details only to answer you and to follow up on your message (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR). I delete the correspondence once it is no longer needed.
Links to other websites
This website links to LinkedIn, Medium, Substack and other websites. These are ordinary links: no data is sent to those services until you follow one. From then on their own privacy policies apply.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to object to its processing (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). To use these rights, write to the email address above. You may also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg.
